The CCIE Security Certification verifies expertise with specific security protocols and components, as well as IP and IP routing. Candidates must first pass a written qualification exam and then the corresponding hands-on lab exam. It is recommended that candidates have three to five years of industry experience and an in-depth understanding of the topics in the exam blueprints before attempting certification.
